Overview

Middlehead Cottage is a traditional stone farmhouse fully refurbished in 2005. The newly fitted cream country style kitchen with oak dresser style shelving (beautifully crafted by Ben), and the calm dining room with painted dresser and oak table and chairs have the original beams exposed and are lovely feature. The original plank doors and latches complete the rustic ambience. A word of caution to taller guests, the traditional size doorways mean "mind your head"!

The lounge has a large feature fireplace with a woodburning stove and a handcrafted oak mantel (beautifully crafted by Ben`s dad!). Comfortable seating and with carefully selected furnishings, it is the perfect place to relax after a long day exploring.

Upstairs, there are 2 double bedrooms and 1 single room, with luxury beds and linens. There are wooden plank floors (kept to the original boards where it was possible), and a newly refitted bathroom with bath and electric shower over. There is an airing cupboard for towels and plenty of storage for personal items.

The south facing rooms have wonderful views over the paddock into the forest.
The cottage is heated with very effective, timed electric convectors which are in every room and adjustable to suit guests requirements.

There is a private parking space adjacent to the cottage, with a small grassed area, and a larger terraced seating area which is exclusively for Middlehead Cottage's guests. The garden is not enclosed.

We ask our guests that dogs are kept on leads within the grounds, as our other cottages are not pet friendly, and other guests may not be `doggy` people! (We keep our dog also on a lead for our guests comfort). We also ask that dogs are not allowed in the bedrooms for hygiene purposes. Please ask if you require a dog bed, as we have spare!

• Prices include all linens, towels, heating and electric
• A deposit of £100 is required on booking, with balance due 4 weeks before arrival
• We regret we do not accept credit cards
